I recently spent five days at Hotel Dubrava, tucked away just outside Poltava, and it had its ups and downs. On one hand, the ambiance was delightful, with delightful garden views and a charming terrace that really made you feel connected to nature. The restaurant served up a mix of Russian and European cuisine, which had its tasty moments—especially the hearty meals crafted by the lady in charge. My room had some issues that couldn't be overlooked, like black mold around the windows and some cobwebs that made it feel less than fresh. Despite the cleanliness challenges, it’s important to recognize that sometimes places are just finding their footing, and I genuinely appreciated the friendly room service and 24-hour front desk assistance. For a laid-back getaway, this place has potential; it just needs a thorough sprucing up. I'd be happy to return, perhaps in a group or with a friend, once the hotel gets a bit more TLC—it could seriously shine!
